To start with, the CyberFair competition is only a once in a lifetime opportunity for us in our class. With this, were determined to do well and be industrious in finishing it.
As for our group, were assigned to Local Attractions as our theme. And it’s perfect for I love seeing beautiful scenic spots; it just captivates my heart so much. We chose the Baguio Botanical Garden to be featured in our project for its all time serene atmosphere and it shows the Igorot life before and today.
As a group, our first stop was to go to Botanical Garden to take some pictures for the website and have a little tour for us to know the entire content of the garden. Unfortunately, we figured out that we should have asked permission from our mentor, Mr. Vincent Tabor. Here are some of the photos taken the first time we went to Botanical Garden as a group..
After a few days, I, Andrea, and Jessyka FINALLY asked permission from Mr. Tabor for us to go to Baguio City Parks Office to talk to Ma’am Cornelia Lacsamana. On that day, we were mixed up with another group hwo had an appointment with Mr. Anthony de Leon, the general manager of Baguio Country Club and at the same time he is the one who organizes the Panagbenga Festival this year. Because Mr. de Leon was an hour late, his staff decided to tour us first around while we’re waiting. It was so great for it is a once in a lifetime experience to go inside the BCC (well, if you’re not a member). :) We took pictures, and we bought some food, (sayang ang chance na makabili eh!).
After that, we went to City Parks Office, well of course for NOTHING. They said that they are not the ones who handle the Botanical Garden, they specifically take care of the Burnham Park. So the SEPMO was our only chance. A nice thought from our mentor made me realize something, “Welcome to the government”, how IRRESPONSIBLE our government is.
But that didn’t hinder us from being determined with our mission; we continued as a group.
And now that we are near to be finished, there are a lot of lessons that I’ve learned.
When we know that a thing only happens once in our life, we do whatever it takes to be good for it. No matter how many problems life throws to us, we try to do our best to achieve our goals. And when you are as a group, you can’t do it all alone. You have to be with your groupmates and hear them, understand them, ask them, approach them, and work with them. Teamwork and cooperation is what it takes to have a successful mission, especially when you’re as a group.
It’s once in a lifetime—do not waste it.
