Christmas Destinations, Here I Come!

This Yuletide season gives us a break from our works and duties and sets us free from stress. It is also a time to get together with our families and loved ones. So for this ultimate vacation let's take a look at some places you might wanna go at!

Batanes
This island is found on the northernmost part of the Philippine region. Its climate is same as the climate of Taiwan, and sometimes it experiences below the normal low of 55 degrees Fahrenheit (13 degrees Celsius). Their hills are absolutely stunning and breathtaking!

 

Baguio

With its climate, I'm sure you're going to fall in love with it! The lights at the Session Road that gives life to Baguio at night, the luscious strawberries, and the gorgeous sceneries, I'm sure you don't wanna miss those things! 

Palawan

The beaches, the marine reserved parks, the caves, and the clean and green surroundings, those are what Palawan have to make you stay!

Christmas season will never be complete without happiness, so don't think twice and start the engine!

A New Song To Learn :)

This song is from a Philippine band named Rivermaya and its title is "214".


I was sitting beside my Dad's seat in our car when I heard this song and became interested with it.  At first I don't remember the song, but when I got home, I searched for it in the internet and found it.

The reason behind its title is because of the date "February 14" or the Valentine's Day. Nice huh? :)


I tried to play it with my guitar, the song is really great!

SLU-LHS: My School, My Second Home

“High school… It’s the best 4 years of my life, ever.”
This was a dialogue from my friend who is in college already a few days before she graduated from Baguio Science Foundation High School. When I heard that from her I still have no idea then because I was still in grade school at that time. When I graduated from elementary, I tried many entrance exams from different schools; they are: Saint Paul University, Saint Joseph’s College, and Saint Louis University Laboratory High School.


I tried SPU and SJC’s entrance exam because what I thought then was we were going back to Manila. Enrolling in SLU-LHS was not part of my plan then because I was so in love with SJC [considering that it was my school before]. But things went wrong, we did not go back to Manila, and I was so disappointed. Yet I have no choice, I have to go to a school that I wasn’t in love with.


It was my first day of high school in SLU-LHS, I saw crowds of students, some were familiar, some were not. The bell rang and I didn’t know what to do, then a teacher shouted, “Students, please assemble in the covered court.” So I went and saw some of my future classmates.


After that, I had a friend. So I was like, “Yey! I have a friend already! “. Few days have passed and I had also met a lot people too, that was when I started to build up my circle of friends.


[I’m sorry if I have to mention my friends. I just love them so much! :)]


So when I was in first year I had a circle of friends that are still present from this moment. They are: Lycon Marie Soliba, Riza Marie Gumpac, Alyana Domingo, Pamela Villanueva, and Marienne Ignacio. All of us go out together, hang out together, and eat together. We go to each other’s house to hang out (especially at Riza’s place!).


But my first year would not be complete without being a member of Glee Club, you know why? Because singing is my first love. Good thing, Pamela and Marienne are lovely singers too, so I would not have to worry about joining the club alone. In Glee Club, we joined some competitions, and it was so fun! I remember when we used to practice in the Music room, hugging all the people you see when you enter the area, singing songs and feeling it fervently. Don’t you know that I also cried while singing a song just because I really have to feel it! It was so fun, I swear! And that ended my superb first year in high school.


I was an ongoing second year student then when I went to South Korea to have my summer vacation. I was in intense break-up hangover then. I was so frustrated after I broke with my boyfriend, [no need to mention his name because my friends knew who he was], that’s why leaving Baguio was a good idea at that time. So I enjoyed myself there, and when I went back and the school started again, there I saw him again. I never realized that forgetting him was so easy, I don’t know the reason behind it but, really, forgetting him was easy.


I was already in second year, many things have changed. Since my friend, Riza, was kicked out from the science section, Yana went to Cambodia for good, and Marienne also migrated to Florida for good, Pamela, Lycon, Riza and I were the ones left here in the Philippines. But again, Riza also migrated to Canada! Oh my, now we’re only three.


Let’s just say that the second year of my high school is not quite good. Some of my friends were already gone. But that doesn’t end the story, there still many things to look onto… Until my heart went beating again for someone. And this someone was the reason why I promised myself never to write a song again. I guess falling in love is not a best option for me to be happy. And that ended my second year of high school. Quite short huh?


Okay. So I’m in the third year now, good thing I do not have a love life right now so I could focus on my studies.


SLU-LHS gave me reasons why I should be happy, I've met true friends that I can lean unto, I was able to discover the abilities I have,and I was able to experience the best moments in my life. With Saint Louis University Laboratory High School, indeed, my high school years are the best 4 years of my life. :)

Prayer

Almighty Father,

                                You never let me down every time I need You; You give me the strength to make it through each day, with these I thank You. We thank You for the fruitful one hundred years of Saint Louis University as the Light of the North. Father, I seek for Your guidance as I grow as a Louisian student. May I be able to do what is right for me and for others, to express what I have in my mind, to be sensitive to the feelings and moaning of others, and to love my neighbour as I love You.

As another century comes, may You give Saint Loius University the strength to face all the obstacles it will encounter—that there will be no happenings that might destroy its name. May You also give all the Louisians the competitiveness, creativity, social involvement, and Christian spirit as from the Mission Vision entails. Lastly, may You guide SLU to maintain its excellence not only in teaching academically, but also in teaching morals and values to all its students. These I ask through Your Son, Jesus Christ.

St. Aloysius de Gonzaga, pray for us. AMEN.

When I need help, they are those I look for,

So see if there is no SLU?

So study right for your family’s future,

Because from right now, that’s what I can picture.
